Our Fellows

Meet the Next Generation of Colorectal Surgery Leaders

Our fellows are at the heart of the Global Colorectal Surgery Education Initiative. As participants in Ghana's first national colorectal surgery fellowship program, they are receiving advanced clinical training, surgical mentorship, and leadership development to become the country's future specialists in colorectal care.

Beyond technical surgical training, the fellowship is designed to prepare leaders who will shape the future of colorectal surgery in Ghana.

Fellows participate in a comprehensive professional development curriculum that prepares them to become clinicians, educators, researchers, and health system leaders.

Oral Board & Academic Preparation: Fellows receive biweekly oral board examination coaching and training in multiple-choice question (MCQ) development, helping strengthen future surgical assessment and education programs in Ghana.

Leadership Development: Monthly career and leadership coaching equips fellows with the skills to lead colorectal units, develop cancer care programs, mentor future trainees, and advance surgical education.

Research & Quality Improvement: Ongoing mentorship in clinical research, data analysis, and quality improvement empowers fellows to identify gaps in care and implement evidence-based solutions. Fellows are supported in presenting their work at international scientific meetings and contributing to the global surgical literature through peer-reviewed publications.

Through this comprehensive training model, our fellows are developing the expertise, leadership, and academic foundation needed to improve colorectal care for generations to come.
