We are thrilled to celebrate Dr. Ijeoma Aja, our second graduate of Ghana’s Colorectal Surgery Fellowship.
In November, Dr. Aja marked this milestone with a small, heartfelt celebration alongside faculty and residents at Koforidua, the hospital where she has helped build and expand colorectal surgical care. It was a fitting moment of reflection and gratitude with the team that has supported her growth and witnessed her journey firsthand.
In December, she was formally recognized at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons graduation ceremony, where she was acknowledged as the second fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon in Ghana—a remarkable personal achievement and an important step forward for surgical care in the country.
Dr. Aja’s graduation represents more than the completion of training. It reflects years of dedication, resilience, and a deep commitment to serving patients who have long had limited access to specialized colorectal care.
